Stories have always fascinated me — their power to move us, to change us, and to open up new perspectives.
I'm an author and story mentor with over 25 years of experience: across film, TV, and literature, Germany and the US, theory and practice. After studying American Studies, Theater, and Film Studies in Mainz, I moved to the United States to learn the craft of creative writing at the renowned Center for Writers in Mississippi.
Already in 1995 I founded one of the first German-language online literary magazines. In New York I spent ten years as a film critic for About.com, a portal of the New York Times, and worked as an editor for several American literary journals. My novel Kino was published in 2012 by Atticus Books in New York.
Since 2016 I've worked closely with production companies and broadcasters like Netflix, ZDF, and Arte. My work on series like Dark and Better Call Saul gave me valuable insight into the development of complex narrative formats.
Today I live and work in Berlin as a story mentor, combining precise dramaturgical craft with a deep understanding of the creative process. My passion lies in the authentic connection between writer and story — because that's exactly where the key lies to the stories only you can tell.
