The StoryFlow Method

Four Aspects of Writing

Writing rarely fails for a single reason. There are always multiple forces at play. The work lies in bringing them back into balance.

Impulse

Why this story? What is it that won't let you go — and how do you find its form?

Imagination

The space of possibility. What if — and how far do you dare to go?

Craft

Structure, scene, voice. The tools that give impulse its form — without clipping its wings.

Process

How you work, when you work, what stops you. Writing practice is always also self-knowledge.

What Writers Struggle With

Do any of these sound familiar?

"Am I ready for a manuscript assessment?"

You're not sure where you stand — and risk investing at the wrong stage. A clear sense of where you are helps you identify the right next step.

"I'm getting so much contradictory feedback."

Beta readers, writing groups, courses — everyone says something different. You don't need another opinion. You need a diagnosis.

"I don't know how to move forward."

Decision paralysis blocks more writers than lack of talent. What you need is clarity about the very next concrete step.

"Full mentoring or editing feels too big for where I am."

The jump from nothing to an expensive program is too large. There are ways in between — accessible and still meaningful.

Who I Am

Dr. Jürgen Fauth

Author and story mentor with a PhD in Creative Writing and over 25 years of experience across film, TV, and literature, Germany and the US, theory and practice.

After studying American Studies in Mainz, I moved to the United States to learn the craft of creative writing at the renowned Center for Writers in Mississippi. I settled in New York, where I worked as an author, film critic, and editor — including for the New York Times. Since 2016 I've worked closely with production companies and broadcasters like Netflix, ZDF, and Arte.

Today I live and work in Berlin as a story mentor. My passion is the authentic connection between writer and story: that's where the key lies to the stories only you can tell.

The coaching session with Jürgen Fauth was exceptionally helpful and enjoyable. His StoryFlow method helped me see exactly where I was stuck. It's a meaningful tool for understanding where you stand and finding the lever to move forward. Jürgen himself is very supportive — he doesn't give ready-made answers, which matters to me.

I've worked with Jürgen on several projects now — features and short films — and he always brings enormous story knowledge to our conversations. The feedback is consistently constructive, the discussions are fun and full of curiosity around character and theme. He's never dogmatic. Absolute recommendation.
